Abstract | The purpose of this thesis is to develop pan tilt head for the stereo camera system. This stereo camera system will have the ability to both pan and tilt, enabling it to track the motion of object in sizable environment. The Bumblebee stereo camera is chosen in this thesis. Stepper motor is used for actuation. The open loop control structure is applied. Tracking object program is written in C++ to dete1mine 3D position of center of object in order to calculate the required pan tilt angles to move the motors. The control PC is interfaces with the stepper actuators using the printer port. The program uses four-connectedness and component labeling algorithms to detect desired object. |
