AbstractRapid Prototyping (RP) system in Thailand is going to be important and significant for industrial engineering. It is most beneficial for marketing, designing, manufacturing and even selling. According to expensive and high technology, it is rarely found in the industrial firms and people who are able to know and operate an RP machine are less as well. This is a reason solving this problem by means of some tools to help them understand RP and operate RP very well. A software to convert CNC milling machine into rapid prototyping systems is constructed to study in this thesis. A software is created to proof the concept how to operate RP by the method of layer-bylayer throughout it. It is written and programmed by C++ language companion with OpenGL so as to design graphical user interface and process RP. The main tarket is to translate a geometry into G-code program by slicing and getting a tool path of each layer. In addition, to make it success, a real prototype is cut through a CNC milling machine by the translating G-code. Eventually, the result is satisfied the concept and become benefit in the future work of development.
