Abstract | End of this century brought drastic changes in technology and infrastructure to implement this technology. Every one is striving for global competence. Quality is now a major criterion for manufacturing industry for global competence. Automation has proven its indispensability by answering most of the pressing issues on this matter. Now automation is the key to this competence. During last few years PLCs are available but due to lack of knowledge, insufficient expertise to program and an unavailability of powerful SCADA system, they all contributed to limit its widespread expansion. This work is concerned with the development of automatic aqueous cleaning system used in a semiconductor industry for ultrasonic cleaning of Head Stack Assemblies, an important part of Hard Disk. In this work process is studied and analyzed thoroughly and main algorithm for the PLC program in STEP 7 is developed. The HMI and real time control is done through WinCC. · Due to unavailability of the process in the production line, another PLC is used as slave to simulate all the inputs at real time. This slave PLC is connected to the master by DP interface module and Profibus cable. This system can then clean in ·high quality and quantity in order to reduce the capital cost and increase the quality standard. Another advantage of this system is the availability of source code, which can be modified at any time as required. |
