AbstractThe purpose of this study is to redesign a manufacturing system to solve the overload problem due to the increasing customer demand. Simulation on SIGMA package was used to evaluate the performance of existing system. The alternative designs of the system are proposed based on the analysis of the results. The departments, machine groups and the production processes were identified in the simulation model. Firstly, the initial processing time, rework time and lead-time were analyzed by using SPSS package. Secondly, the data were coded into input data file of the simulation model to obtain the valid outputs of the model. Finally, numerous alternatives were run and analyzed to determine minimum lead-time.
