AbstractThe information and communication technology (ICT) has become a critical technology which has an incredible impact on the development of the world economy. One of the most important ICT which becomes a vital part of the business and people's lifestyle today is the Internet technology. Due to the widespread of the Internet worldwide, Internet contents have increased and became more sophisticated. In order to achieve this, a faster and more reliable Internet connection is needed. Broadband technology has been developed and introduced to the market in order to solve the problems of local loop networks, major barriers of delivering large Internet contents to end users. However, broadband penetrations in many countries are still very low. Studies regarding the deployment of broadband have been conducted based on several frameworks, both at the macro and micro level. This research study focuses on the individual level to identify factors influencing home Internet users in adopting broadband services. Various issues related to broadband adoption are raised in order to conduct the empirical study of broadband adoption in Thailand. The factors studied consist of three main parts: demographic factors, knowledge and experience factors, and user perception towards broadband services factors. Finally using the binary logistic regression model, the results show that there are seven significant factors, which have been derived from the three main parts stated earlier. These factors can be used to discriminate Internet users between the group willing to adopt broadband services and those who are not.
