Abstract | Due to rapidly change in information technology, the companies must exploit more and more solutions that require enhancing existing systems or reengineering the older ones in order to survive in the competitive marketplace. An Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) is an integrated application software package to support the efficient operation of business processes in the companies by integrating business activities, including sales, marketing, manufacturing, accounting, finance, and staffing, using a common database and shared management reporting tools. This research study attempts to find out the critical success factors for ERP project implementation. A conceptual framework is developed based on the previous research studies on project success factors. Then, In-depth qualitative interviews were conducted to three selected ERP projects in Thailand, which are in telecommunication industry, electronics industry, and autonomous organization under the rules, regulations, and procedures of governmental bureaucracy, in order to verify the applicability of framework. Finally, all case studies would be analyzed to draw and compare the lesson learned. The results reveal that a comprehensive list of CSFs of ERP projects selected from literature was considered the availability by all case studies, although ther~ are slightly different perceptions from interviewees in the importance of each CSP. This may be because of the differences of characteristics in the organization, the nature of the project, the scope and objectives of ERP projects, and so on. As a result, all of these CSFs should be considered to include in the conceptual framework of CSFs of ERP project. |
