AbstractIn new China, there are more women as low-level or middle-level managers, even touching top-level. Contempora1y female with higher education play a significant part in the organizations, society and family. In various industries, capable women work hard and achieve good beneficial results for organizations to prove their abilities with the leader's trust and their promotions. In society, the discriminations toward women have been reduced a lot and there are laws to ensure equality in workplace. In family, many women are in charge of family expenditure and share the housework with husbands. Although women hold up half the sky in China, with traditional culture, there still exist the phenomenon "the higher the post, the fewer the women". For Chinese women managers, what are their management styles and what are their strengths and weaknesses? This research study investigated their commitment in management characteristics (including decision-making, leadership and styles in those two respects); career path and career development; opportunities and challenges. This exploratory study presented the Chinese women managers in service, trade and manufacturing and IT industries. In-depth interviews were conducted to the women managers for knowing their roles, success, difficulty, ideas about management and analysis for chances and baniers from their valuable experiences in global environment. The discussion of findings and recommendations from the research study will help Chinese Women Managers improve their perfo1mances to be successful with further development and Human Resource Management to make full use of talent women resources effectively.
