AbstractMost of the companies in the logistic, distribution and marketing industly at Myanmar have been practicing the strategic human resource management plan changing from traditional personnel management. Companies' managements want their policies and processes to best fit to needs of the employees in order to motivate them in every aspect of business activities and so that to be progress the profitability and competitiveness. This research explores the condition of the current human resource management practices in a marketing and distrubution service company in Myanmar through perceptions of company management and employees. In-depth interviews were made with both the groups to measure their opinions and identify the present HRM practices and related problems. In this research study, a questionnaire survey was conducted in which 76 employees from Diethelm & Co., Ltd (Myanmar) participated to find out whether the employees achieve satisfaction in their job or not. The results of this study confirm that overall human resource management practices are not too much systematic and strategic and the rate of employee job satisfaction is not in the highest point but employees are satisfied to some extent in their jobs. Effective compensation system especially for basic salary is needed and training and development program is less if compare to the requirement. There are some obstacles like external factors in formulating and investing human resource management plan to be strategic.
