Abstract | In this research, we study the optimal length of a cycle from the beginning of the production until products are delivered to the customers to find the maximum profit of the production by using economic order quantity model. We consider an imperfect manufacturing process which possibly produces defective products. We analyze two possibilities for dealing with defective products by reworking or sold at discount to gain the maximum profit as possible. Moreover, a case of a safety stock is added to the inventory in case of a fluctuation demand will be another option to be considered. |
