Abstract | There is limited empirical research on the internationalization processes, strategies and operations of Chinese emerging MNEs. Drawing on primary data from a leading Chinese household electrical appliance enterprise-Haier Group, who has implemented a series of investments in overseas markets in the last few years, this research started off by giving an overview of the China's economy situation and household electrical appliance industry in China, And then Haier's internationalization characteristics and strategies, including motivations, patterns and key factors for its success was examined and analyzed. The case study indicates that this emerging Chinese MNE has strong enough and can effectively compete with the global electrical appliance giants in the global market in a mature industry by adopting an innovative international expansion strategy. |
