Abstract | Nowadays, management is more likely a game, especially a "war-game". The competition in business management is callous just as the ruthlessness of dramatic battlefield. Perhaps this similarity is acknowledged by a Chinese saying, "The business world is like a battlefield". Therefore, it is also not great surprise that war strategies has developed and applied in the business management and strategy. With this status, various studies relating the application of milita1y strategies to business management have been undertaken. This study describes an integrated market enhy sh·ategy development and performance measurement model using Sun Tzu's milita1y sh·ategy, The Art of War. This model bases on the sh·ategy fonnulation framework developed by Prof. Lee from Hong Kong. The method of conjoining the balanced scorecard, TWOS analysis, and quality function deployment methodology have been utilized in this framework. However, there are a few studies relating to the consh·uction indushy market. This study aims to develop an integrated market enhy sh·ategy development and performance measurement model using Sun Tzu's milita1y strategy. In order to successfully acquire the objectives to fulfill this study, Sun Tzu's The A1t of War has been fully studied and the market entry sh·ategies of the foreign construction companies operating in Thailand and Thai constrnction companies that have branches or projects in foreign county have been investigated. |
