Abstract | The study develops to minimize the amount of time spent on the paperwork of the fie ld inspection and reentering process. This study develops the mobile version of JJF to enable to use these devices as a computer-aided tool for fie ld inspection process because the mobile computer has a small size and lightweight. The inspector is able to carry it to any location comfortab ly. A fie ld inspection support system eliminates the reentering process and helps an inspector to inspect the expressway in the most efficient manner. The study focuses on the implementation of mobile version of Jff for expressway routiiie inspection and focuses on the process of routine inspection of these expressway systems because it is the main inspection and the frequency of this inspection is performed an nually. In add ition, the condition rating modification and Bridge ldentification Number (BIN) are modifying in this study. The condition rating modification is divided into 6 damage conditions which are (N) not appl icable, (5) very good condition, (4) good condition, (3) fa ir condition, (2) poor and critical condition, and (I) fai lure and fa iled condition. An expressway can be divided into sections and subsections identi fied by the Bridge Identification Number (BJN). The BIN of the study 6 levels which are Expressway System, Type of the Expressway, Route, No. of Kilometer, No. of Span and Structure Member. JIF is an object-oriented application framework that is a reusable, semi-complete appl ication that can be specialized to produce custom applications. In other word, .TIF is an application or environment that is able to interpret the necessary information about a particular inspection process. JIF is developed using JAVA to ensure platform independence and internet support. JIF was developed based on the concept of Object-Oriented Application framework that describes the interaction between interacting objects to provide a three of an application in a particular application domain. The study develops the Mobile Pavement Inspection (MPI) system by using JIF. MPI system prepares the pavement elements (section) is to be inspected, pavement knowledge and task information by fo llowing modified condition rating. MPI system directly runs on mobile computer. So, an inspector is able to carry it to any location comfortably. |
