Abstract | In live streaming, content is made and sent in real-time. Therefore, a small latency as less as possible is one of the most significant metric. In a recent year, Adaptive HTTP protocol has been provided many pros such as devices and security systems are accepted to HTTP traffic more than to the RTSP/RTP traffic, Caching real-time HTTP media is more simple, and CDNs management is not costly when handle with HTTP traffics [Akhshabi, 2012]. However, only the protocol is not enough to deal with this issue, the network structure should have to be considered. While a pure-CDN architecture causes an expensive cost, one of the effective solutions is an implementing a Hybrid CDN–P2P Mesh-based techniques into live streaming network which can causes more cost-effective than pure CDN architectures [D.Xu et al., 2006]. However, to reduce more delay in this system, the proposed method is implemented Hybrid Pull-Push Method on P2P Mesh-based part. In the most significant part, to simulate the performance, OverSim based on OMNET++ simulation is used. This paper uses 4 performance metrics to evaluate the architectures, which are a startup delay, an end-to-end delay, a video distortion, and overhead control. Hybrid Pull-Push Method can help to reduce the end-to-end delay, however it causes high rate of video distortion. After that, to reduce the video distortion of Hybrid Pull-Push Method, distributing only I frame and P frame has been implemented. Therefore, the proposed method has the lowest delay in end-to-end delay, distortion and overhead control. However, The proposed method has more startup delay than the general method when implemented in CDN-P2P. |
