AbstractFiber section model for reinforced concrete beam element is developed in this study. The program is validated for several reinforced concrete frames which have rectangular or circular cross-section and are subjected to applied load in many directions. The results showed that the present model has been capable of predicting the nonlinear response of reinforced concrete frames well. The present modeling of material properties is capable of capturing the dominant flexural behavior of reinforced concrete frames in the elastic and inelastic. For both unconfined concrete and confined concrete frames, the load-displacement relationships of fiber section analysis show good results. Moreover, based on fiber section analysis modal pushover analysis is developed to investigate the seismic performance of the reinforced concrete bridge pier in terms of multi-mode. The results of seismic performance of one circular reinforced concrete bridge pier with some first modes shows reasonable results.
