AbstractAs the cost of flat pannel display is going down, it becomes feasible to use the flat pannel display to replace the cathode ray tube (CRT) in the normal desktop PC. This will make the PC more p011able because of the lower weight of the display and reduce power supply. The light emission from cathode rays tube and bulb is harmful for the eyes of the users on seeing long time and also the resolution is much better in LCD flat screen. The new design consists of a flat pannel display to which the main CPU board is attached to the back of the display. The power supply, hard disk, CD drive and floppy drive are integrated in a single case supporting the flat pannel by CPU unit. This design has a good balance. The advantages are lightweight, cooling of the CPU and cabling are major problems solved in this research. The weight of whole PC including attached monitor and CPU unit is only 8.5 kg. To develop a new product after getting 3D Model layout drawing, marketing survey analysis is required in order to identify the actual customer needs. A designed product must be according to the customer requirements. Analyzed results are matched with technical solutions and conve11ed into engineering characteristics with product specifications by the method of Quality Function Deployment (QFD). Then the most appropriate product design is selected to become a market design. Auto CAD 2000 and Pro/ Engineer 2000i are used for the design. A prototype model is also done.
