Abstract | The influence of different types of anionic trash on retention and formation was investigated in laboratory scale. The sources of anionic trash were hardwood kraft pulp (HW) and coated broke. Three retention systems were employed for learning their mechanisms and performances. One was single polymer system; the others were Compozil and Hydrocol microparticle retention systems. Three types of Anionic Trash Catcher (ATC)- polyaluminum chloride (PAC), polyamine (PA), and poly-DADMAC (PD) were used to treat contaminated pulp stock. Their effectiveness and efficiency were studied on the base of retention and formation which were mainly carried on the Dynamic Drainage Jar (DDJ). Zeta potential and particle charge density (PCD) were measured for analyzing pulp condition. In addition, the efficiency of microparticle retention systems were compared each other along with single polymer system. It was supposed to find that each ATC was working effectively with particular pulp condition and how the interactions between ATCs, C-PAM and microparticles are. |
