AbstractPrinter is one of the most important devices of our daily life; where the toner cartridge is the heart of this machine. Every day we are printing thousands of pages, ignoring the impact from that particular type of toner cartridge. This study tells the story about environmental burden for printing with a toner cartridge that has three End of Life (EoL) scenario. SIMAPRO 8.2.0 software has been used and modelled to find out the comparative impact for printing specific number of pages. Functional Unit, Reference flow and three End of Life scenario has been defined accordingly for this Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of a toner cartridge. Result from SIMAPRO software speaks about the quantitative measure on environmental burden. This quantitative measuring approach is based on printing with a toner cartridge that has different disposal scenario in its life cycle. At the end of this study, Sensitivity Analysis has been performed to ensure the feasibility of this SIMAPRO result. Based on this finding, an Eco-Friendly toner cartridge designing has also been proposed.
