AbstractThe economics of Vietnam has developed rapidly year after year in many fields. The average of GDP is presently about 7%. Production requirement of dry cells has also developed corresponding to the economic development over the country. However, productive competitiveness of domestic companies is being decreased due to the competition of foreign companies and the competition in pricing among them. Therefore, to sustain and develop the companies need to perform the investment and the innovation, reduce the price of products and increase the quality of products. For the past years, at Dry cell and Storage Battery Company (for short is Pinaco), their annual growth rate was more than 10%. Especially, since June 21st 2004, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Industry (MOI) Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thuy representing Minister of MOI signed Decision No 53/2004/QD- BCN on equitising The Dry Cell and Storage Battery Company to Dry Cell and Storage Battery Joint Stock Company, with this new mechanism, the survival is a great interest of Pinaco's Leadership. How they can maintain above annual growth rate in high competition environment of Vietnam's battery industry and International's also in the line with the challenges of the new entry of Vietnam into Asians Free Trade Area (AFTA). The research study fulfilled its objective by first analyzing the reason why the Eagle dry cell factory (one of Pinaco's members) needs to transfer to a new location, in industrial zone. Then, it proceeds to identify the gap of the equipments and technological process in producing dry cell with respect to the quality of products and their price, so as to increase the competitiveness of the Eagle dry cell factory. Finally, in the light of research findings, some recommendations were given for improving the present situation as well as to feel their legs in the future.
