AbstractRadio Frequency Identification, commonly refe1Ted to RFID, has the potential to change the way we produce, distribute, and purchase goods. For the first time in history, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers will have real-time visibility of every link in the supply chain. Products coming in from suppliers works-in-process within a company's four walls, and finished goods being distributed to fulfill customer demand can all be managed in real time by using RFID. Obtaining and managing all this information will require new technologies, processes and procedures. This research study will deals with both technological potential for RFID and the business practices in the industry today, at different stages of the supply chain. The final aim is to learn how to maximize benefits in implementing an RFID based technology project.
