Abstract | China's escalating consumption and production of paper and board pushes up its demand for the fiber materials of woodpulp and recovered paper. Many companies have been planning to build large-scale integrated forestry projects in China, beginning with plantation projects. This research study discusses the motives and challenges to these projects. Stora Enso as a case in point has been consistently carrying out its plantation project in Guangxi Province. Being a leading forestry company in the world, Stora Enso finds it not easy to reach its aims. This research study looks into Stora Enso's situation in Guangxi as well as in China, and provides recommendations. |
