AbstractThis thesis proposes a framework as an extension to an access control markup language (XACML) to be able to handle and utilize spatial/temporal information at its best. The information is associated to subjects that request access to the system. The framework is implemented based on XML Declarative Description (XDD) using XML Equivalent Transformation (YET) as a tool for programming. Evaluation process is done by comparing the proposed framework with two prominent implementations; Sun's XACML implementation and Parthenon's XACML Evaluation Engine. A hospital related scenario is chosen for building a prototype
