AbstractAs technology changed to web based business trend, nearly all business have to maintain a database either a centralized one or web based database. Therefore, most of the application developers need to have knowledge about the database connectivity, so that they can make use of databases in their applications. Not only for the application programmers, since programming with database connectivity is becoming a basic programming practice in computer science. Since, programming with database connectivity is a wide area to teach in detail, the objective of the study is to implement the learning objects for teaching and learning database connectivity in Java programming language by using JDBC. This learning object can be used to teach computer science students in university undergraduate courses. The proposed system is an integration of learning object technology, question and answer framework, the extension of BlueJ environment. As the proposed learning object can be decomposed into eight different single learning objects itself, the learner can learn in his own approach and rate. With various examples, it will help the learner able to improve their programming skills and self taught abilities
