AbstractThis thesis focuses on integrating Intelligent Agent with Learning Objects to improve the content management in Web-based teaching and learning, which can assist in achieving more intelligence, high-level interactivity and more reusability, extensibility. The new technology, "Learning Objects" was applied to educational materials designed and created in small chunks for the purpose of improving reusability, extensibility and manageability of the system. However, with the involvement of Learning Objects, there are still some problems with the current teaching-learning systems, such as low level of interactivity and intelligence that cannot adapt to individual learner's preference. In this study, Integrating Intelligent Agent and Learning Objects is proposed to improve the content management in Web-based teaching and learning. With this design idea, an Intelligence Agent is created to perceive parameters from online learning environment then take the most appropriate behavior or a series of actions. Furthermore, user-models with the Intelligence Agent are designed with responsibility for holding all the users' favoritism and all the behaviors or activities related to them in their online learning environment. Because of the user-models conducing to know more about the learners, system fulfills the tasks with ways adapting to the individual learner's just like a teacher in the classroom can take disparate methods for every student. The ordinal instructing of learning mode was conducted in this research; moreover, the other learning mode such as salutatory learning mode is expected to be developed in future research
