Textile and Garment is one of the most important sectors in Vietnam, in which its export value is second to crude oil. Garco 10, in the North of Vietnam, is one of the leading Textile and Garment companies with its majority products are for export. The exporting activities were undertaken in two methods, exporting CMT and FOB. The research investigates Garco 10 performances using global index, in the context of developing country. The Garco 10 strategic management competencies and directions then are examined to find whether Garco 10 performances reflex rightly what they wanted to do. The company's global actions are also studied to find the gap between a global company and where it is now. Basing on Garco 10 performances, strategic directions, competencies and global actions, the strengths and weaknesses of its global activities are withdrawn. Two strategies for Garco 10 going global are developed and evaluated, in which the Integrated Cost Leadership/ Differentiation Strategy is recommended to complete in the future, basing on the findings of this research as well as the external environment. |
