AbstractVietnam has been opening up its economy to the world over the past decade. "doi moi" policy is now obtaining positive effects which leads to significant improvement in terms of socio-economic growth, foreign investment encouragement, trade promotion and political stability. The success is attributable to the dynamics and on-going renovation of the enterprises. They have met the local demand for goods and services, and the domestic market has become almost saturated. Under these circumstances, international business has emerged to be crucial for the local enterprises to survive and keep growing. The world market, challenging but appealing, is welcoming them all. These companies have no way but to pursue the course of regional and global integration in order to seek new markets and profit. Considered as a well-established and renowned brand in Vietnam, Viglacera (Vietnam Glass and Ceramics for Construction Corporation) is in a process of change. While committed to retaining domestic customers, the company is determined to search for business opportunities abroad. The strategy for international expansion is thus seen as an integral part of the m~ssion and vision of the company.
