AbstractIn this study, the problem of minimizing the makespan of the Job Shop Scheduling problem with sequence-dependent on setup times was considered. To solve the problem, In this heuristic procedure will separate problem to be sub problem two find the minimum makespan for the two jobs/ m-machine scheduling problem was first developed. Then, this heuristic based on the sub problem procedure was developed to solve n-jobs/ m-machines general problem, which appears in this case study In this heuristic will concern on sub problem of Jobs/ m machine. Then it will compare whether, which one is given minimum makespan. The minimum one will be sequence first. In case of their have more than one, which give the same value of minimum makespan, it will concern with the remaining work of that job. The job which have higher remain work will be scheduled first. If they are still having the same value then it will look at processing time to be criteria. The longer processing time will be process first. Not only criteria, which mention before but also it try to sequence the job during machine idle. The computation of this case study is given the good solution which given the lower makespan than current situation of the company and also the dispatching rule, shortest processing time.
