AbstractTo be effective in decision-making, companies need marketing information. Marketing research is in charge for deliver research services by translating data into useful information. But business environment is getting more and more dynamic due to increased globalization and permanently upcoming new business models mostly influenced by new technologies. By that reason, marketing research companies have to delivering the research result faster to serve the market needs. Internet based research method is latest and powerful method for marketing research companies to be able to deliver quality research result in short turnaround time. And it has been successful in many countries; US, Europe and also some countries in Asia. According to Thailand is developing country, the internet penetration rate is not high like in developed countries. Also cultural differences might be an obstacle for applying the online research concept in Thailand. This research paper aims to study the possibility to introduce online research services in Thailand. Advantages, disadvantages and limitation of internet based research in Thailand is being analyzed in-depth. Based on the results of the analysis, the potential of the new research method is being discussed concerning suitable research services, potential target industries and potential companies who would offer these services. Apart from this, the research paper also proposes success criteria and strategies to enter the Thai market under the limitations and constraints found in the study.
