AbstractNowadays the world accepts China as the biggest potential market as a result of the continuously growing economy with robust FDI as well as strong trade performance. At the rise of China, Thai business people keep an eye on its appealing opportunities. However, merely small numbers of the Thai companies has been successful in approaching Chinese market because of its unique business environment and several hidden challenges. This research study attempts to find out the opportunities and challenges of carrying out business in China particularly for Thai company. The research framework is developed from the study on China's economic perspective and Thai-China trade and investment relationships. The challenges are assessed based on the lessons learnt from the existing foreign enterprises in China, the questionnaires conducted with Thai exporters, importers, and investors, as well as, the in-depth interview with the management of Thai-Chinese Business Center. From the researcher's perspective, the recommendations are provided in order to develop the better competitive position of Thai company in Chinese market.
