Abstract | At present, Thailand has economic in the free trade area that makes extensively competition in the global. Therefore, every industry in Thailand has been changed strategy in order to survive in their business. Electrical and electronics industry plays a leading role in export value. For this reason, the electrical and electronics industry concentrated on development continuously in terms of 4M including man, method, material, method and man in order to increase productivity. The important strategy that has been improved in order to fit higher competition in the market is development and training supervisors. They are the key people to upgrade level of quality product and productivity in the company. Also they are first level manger and work closely in the shop floor that they must have skill in management in order to solve the problem, decision making, work planning etc. From interview the human resource management in electrical and electronics industry and the electrical and electronics institute. We found that the supervisor who come from the operator level have always problem in management side and less development and training. Some company doesn't know what is the important management skill for supervisor. Therefore, the aim of this research is to assess training needs for management skill for different groups of supervisors of electronic firms and determine direction of management training for supervisors in electronic firm group. By mean of interview and survey questionnaire the sample are 402 of supervisor and 39 of HRD department. The research found that almost of the supervisors would like to improve their management skill and the most participate for improving themselves are work planning, creative development and analyzing, decision making, supervisory, motivation and leadership. The factors that are supervisors' work period, age, education, number of supervisor, the company size and company establishment period has affected the supervisors' management skill. |
