AbstractThe purpose of this thesis is to develop an underwater vehicle with a unique mechanism which is inspired from the nature. The design was done keeping in mind the future scope for its development as an amphibious robot capable of maneuvering underwater as well as on land. The conceptual design of this robot is inspired from the normal frog. The overall design though is based on the research of several underwater vehicles in past taking into consideration the very unique mechanisms used by them. The RC servo motors and direct current motors are used for actuation of the vehicle. The vehicle main propulsion is done using the two limbs designed and the dive angle is controlled by a unique assemble which uses shifting of center of gravity of the vehicle. The vehicle is controlled through open loop structure. The robot is controlled over a computer parallel port. The vehicle is controlled manually through a GUI using C language.
