| Abstract | This research aims to assess the feasibility of cement exportation from Vietnam to Cambodia in five chapters. Chapter one works as an in troduction of the research consisting of research questions, objectives, scope, limitation, and framework of this study. Chapter two gives readers an overview of cement and cement industry. We will pass through cement industry characteri stics, manufacturing process, five main cement types, and distinction between Ord inary Portland Cement (OPC) and Portland Cement Blended (PCB). The information on Vietnam's cement market presented in chapter tlu·ee include background of the economy, cement consumption vs. supply and assessment on cement export perspective from 2008. Chapter 4 outlines Cambodia's cement market by background and current status of demand vs. supply. An interesting point for cement exporters is that l 00% cement demand of Cambodia is met by imporl. Opportunities and challenges fo r Vietnamese cement to enter Cambodian market are discussed in chapter five. SWOT analysis and export scenarios help to recognize feasibility of the plan in an optim al way. Some proposed points of cement marketing strategy in Cambodia to move this market from consuming OPC to consuming PCB close this last chapter. Based on the information collected from the whole spectrum of stakeholders in the cement industry, a set of recommendations are suggested to Vietnamese cement manufacturers. |
