AbstractIn the near future, the world will be inundated by automation technologies and intelligent devices. The sky will be full of automatic planes, manufactures will be brimful with robots and streets will be overwhelmed with intelligent vehicles. The Automatic Road Sign Recognition module of the Automatic Intelligent Vehicle project is developed in this thesis to approach the future technology. The intelligent vehicle has also the road mark tracking module which help its tracks the road without driver. The Automatic Road Sign Recognition module will help the vehicle to control the speed, to avoid the danger and to make right decision when recognizing the signs. The first part of this work is a sub - module which can automatically detect traffic signs from captured images in the nature scene by the optimal corner detector algorithm. The second part is the automatic road sign recognition sub-module programmed by the template matching algorithm. Both sub-modules are programmed in Microsoft Visual C++ environment; integrated to unique road sign recognition module and can work independently to other module.
