AbstractSugar production is a continuous process. In which, applying advance and modern automation technology provides to users many advantages such as reducing labor and energy consumption, improving quality and increasing throughput. This study concerns with developing the Distributed Control System (DCS) for a sugar cane plant focusing on evaporation stage with simulation process. The work includes creating control program, developing Human Machine Interface (HMI) for simulation and building optimization model. Using the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and SIMATIC PCS7 to create program control helps easy for developers in designing and maintenance. Developed by WinCC, HMI interface of simulation permits operator to monitor and control operations of whole process. Optimization model, basing on deterministic, will support to optimize operation with supervisory structure. This study has meaningful result in heightening sugar cane industrial profit by applying recent state of the art automation technology in process control system.
