Abstract | This study considers resource constrained project scheduling problem in a construction project in Vietnam, which is a sub-project in a long-term project including a logistic building, a warehouse, an equipment store and two workshops in Ca Mau province, South of Vietnam. The problem of this multi resources project is to identify which resources can affect directly to the project duration if they are changed. The study investigates the application of Tabu Search algorithm in the project management to find a good solution for the project scheduling, and to help determine the effect of the resources in the project. To get the solution for the resource constrained project scheduling problem using Tabu Search algorithm in this study, a computer program based on Visual C++ 6.0 is written. The target of this study is to help project manager to analyze the effect of resources to project execution time. This study also aims at helping project manager to identify the resources that are more critical and that should be invested in when there is a need to reduce the total project time. |
