There are 64 government hospitals in Yangon city and uncountable numbers of clinics and pharmaceuticals. It is important to separate hazardous waste and non hazardous wastes not only from public health and environmental point of view but also from resource recovery and recycling aspects. This study indicates that the needs of introducing appropriate policy of waste management and appropriate recycling technologies of recyclable hospital waste by the administrative levels of hospitals and government. In comparison of hospital waste management, hospital waste management in Yangon is needed to provide the training for hospital staffs.
