AbstractThe software becomes more and more complex and is distributed in the different systems. Consequently, it is essential to have an effective paradigm for analysis, design and development. Multi-agent system is the suitable paradigm for the requirement. The multiagent system considers the large-scale system as the set of autonomous agents. Each agent has the specific function in the whole system and can communicate with others to request and response the necessary data and functions. However, the arisen issue is difficult to exchange the message and data between the agents, because there is not homogeneous between them. The ontology-based design method is proposed to apply ontologies, which define all knowledge domains related to the system, in the design and development. The agents rely on the defined ontologies to format their data and messages before sending to others. So the method overcomes the mentioned issue in the multi-agent system concept. In addition, the method reduces the cost and time in the development. The thesis studies the above theories and applies for the particular case study, Vietnam Tourist Multiagent System. The model based on the ontology-based design method is proposed for the system. Besides, the algorithm to create a new tour will be studied and developed. After that a system will be developed by the implementation of consequent algorithm and based on the ontology-based design method.
