AbstractIn Myanmar, the NGOs have widely varying capacities to implement project activities and have been operating in socio-economics development sectors since the early 1990. Their primary objective is empowering people and solving their problems. With rapidly changing technology and globalization, the human resources management has also become more complex and the human capital become crucial for the implementation of the organizations' mission and their effectiveness. Therefore HR practices such as recruiting new qualified staff, retaining skilled staff and motivating the existing staff are essential for NGOs in Myanmar. This study emphasizes how the NGOs in Myanmar are applying the HR practices and how facilitate the staffs· and organizations. Moreover this research examined the strength, weakness, difficulties and problems related to HR to recommend the appropriate suggestions for the improvement of HRM in Myanmar. According to interview discussion and questionnaire survey, some HR practices have a few weak points and need to develop, but some need to start and study more for the well-being of staff and long-term organizational effectiveness. This research, therefore, provides the suitable and effective human resource practices strategically to NGOs in Myanmar.
