Abstract | Myanmar is a country which is still far beyond the economic, social and political developments among Association of South- East Asian Countries (ASEAN) as well as its neighbouring countries. With its low rank HDI (Human Development Index) in the UNDP report, the country still needs development progress. There are more than 40 INGOs in Myanmar filling the development gap since 1980s. The successful implementation and outcomes of those projects will have significant impacts and influence on international development projects in Myanmar. Therefore, this study examines work and activities being carried out by INGOs in Myanmar. In addition this study applied Khang and Moe (2005) model to measure CSFs and SC of ID projects in Myanmar. Next, it explores CSFs that are influential and SC used by INGOs in the country. A survey method was used with a questionnaire to collect information from ID projects in Myanmar. A structured interview with local and foreign project managers was also conducted. Based on findings, recommendations are made for project managers and key stakeholders involved in ID projects for their future improvement. |
