Abstract | Grape cultivation for wine production is nearly as old as civilization. Today, wine production occurs throughout the world, and wine is increasingly entering international markets. While consumption in old wine-countries like France or Italy starts to decrease, the Asian market experiences a growing interest in wine consumption. In the industry, one wine of grapes remain very competitive in old wine-countries, the Champagne but what are the performances of this wine in the Asian market. The study will start with an analysis of the global wine market with its main producers, main importers and main exporters. The end of the first part will analyze the key issues for the industry. The second part will focus on the Champagne history and how to produce it. After a description of the industry this part will emphasis on the specificity of this product. Finally the study will analyze the Asian wine market focusing on three interesting markets for the wine industry: Japan, China and Thailand. Conclusion and recommendation will end the study. |
