Abstract | Comparing to other markets in the ASIAN region, the Vietnamese LPG market is shared by too many participants. With the shortcoming legal framework, this market place is an increasingly competitive environment. Sixty trading companies arc serving a growing but small scale market. Meanwhile, international firms will enjoy new advantages when domestic supply source declines. All enterprises must purchase LPG from international suppliers. In the context of an intensive rivalry and unsustainable future growth, as a large state-owned trading LPG company, Saigon Petro must formulate a comprehensive long term strategy for guaranteeing its future growth. According to analysis findings, external trends are still weighed on favorable market conditions, and Saigon Petro is employing some rare and cost-to-imitated capabilities, company strategic choice should be market development. Then, strategy implementation will concentrate in leveraging infrastructure system, strengthening marketing strategy and improving organizational structure. Due to scarcity characteristics, proposed strategy intends to optimize company resources and capabilities, so that Saigon Petro is able to achieve as the leading company in Vietnam market, occupying the significant market share and increasing both top line and bottom line |
