AbstractThe main goals of Export Promotion are to contribute to overall economic improvement of a country, and the subsequent increase for the standard of the living of the population. This can be achieved through the increase of total merchandise sold abroad and the diversification of the structure of goods and services exported, not only in terms of products, but also in terms of economic activities and markets. Many Vietnamese SMEs in furniture industry try to penetrate into the EU market even though they have not had enough information about the market as well as their current situation. This issue has resulted in the waste of time and money while it can be implemented through a process. The research aims at helping the businesses possible to penetrate into the market on the base of the deployment of specific resources, an increase in the overall development level in terms of production techniques, management methods, etc. To do that, the understanding of the EU market in general and selected markets in particular will be done. Furthermore, Vietnamese furniture SMEs's situations are found to have the best thoroughly view. On the findings, a process of export promotion for Vietnamese SMEs is being suggested. Export Promotion Programs (EPPs) are one way to enable SMEs to reach the mentioned objectives by assisting and supporting them to cope with those restraints
