Abstract | Drug lags and demand lags are one of the interesting areas of research in the recent years. A large portion of this research is based on secondary data which is published on websites of advanced countries or provided on request by the different Ministries of Public Health. This research tries to measure the trends in the drug lag and demand lag and if the lag is reducing between Thailand and the United States. The key issue found in this research is that the emergency units of the general public hospitals use mostly non-patented drug in Thailand and the database of the Thai FDA starts primarily from a latter date (1983). In spite of that, it was found that the time lag lies within the demand lag than the drug lag which is the current belief among different managers of global pharmaceutical companies in Thailand. |
