AbstractWhen it comes to trading stocks, behavior is often an Issue. Being aware of the trading behavior of investors is crucial since many stakeholders are subject to their behavioral influences. This study uses descriptive statistics to investigate the stock trading behavior of Bangkok residents, explore the relationship between demographic characteristics and trading behavior, and examine the difference in trading behavior of stock traders with different demographic characteristics Some of the interesting findings include majority of the traders prefer online-trading. maintain a portfolio that can hold a maximum amount of stocks worth Baht 0-200,000, have an average holding period of less than a month, target for a minimum profit of 0%-10% before selling stocks, can tolerate a maximum loss of 0-10'% before selling their stocks, rely heavily on personal intuition and preference in selecting stocks, prefer to invest in the Financial Industry but puts in the maximum amount of their investment money in the Resources Industry, invest 41%-50% of their investment money in the most preferred industry, and perceive themselves as making money in stock investment. In addition, five tests of hypotheses is carried out revealing two important findings: Bangkok male stock traders arc more confident in their investment decisions than female traders and married traders invest more in stocks than single traders.
