AbstractAir transportation is one of the fastest growing industries. It can bring wealth to nations since each time of transport, it moves human resources, capital, goods and services and knowledge all over the world. The drivers in this industry are passengers, airlines, airports and aircraft producers. Among these factors, Thailand chooses to play in airport market because the country can take advantage of geographic location that is suitable for connectivity. Within many potential countries that can act as an aviation hub, Thailand is therefore the one that has the opportunities to serve the industry as an aviation hub in South East Asia region. As a result, the newest airport, Suvarnabhumi, has been operating in the competitive circumstance. However, being an aviation hub is not that easy. There are few airports in the region that want to be in that position as well. The competitive analysis and SWOT analysis are then used to analyze the possibilities and challenges of Suvarnabhumi airport. In conclusion, it has been found that Suvarnabhumi has many advantages beyond its competitors. Meanwhile, it has many areas of improvement also.
