AbstractWith the development of communication, demands of connection between service providers are increasing more and more. Therefore, traffic measurement and analysis between providers are necessary for network management and operation. This research studies the behaviors of traffic between fixed network of VNPT (VNPTF) and mobile providers in a local tandem in HCMC. The study also compares the traffic between mobile service and fixed service of providers. The analysis consists of traffic profile, conversation time distribution, calls distribution, and investigates the number of circuits between VNPTF and other providers at the local tandem 2 (LTW). The success ratio, percent of reason of fail calls is considered. The results of traffic measurement show that traffic between VNPTF (LTW) and MobiFone is the highest although the number of subscriber of MobiFone is less than Vinaphone. Traffic from subscriber to subscriber between VNPTF (LTW) and VinaPhone is the lowest, 0.6593x10-6mErl and from ViettelF to VNPTF (LTW) is the highest, 106.4x10-6mErl. At the present, traffic between VNPTF and mobile providers occupies 18.7% in total traffic from the local tandem to mobile and fixed providers. Traffic between VNPTF and mobile providers rise up the highest peak value at 10:00 in the morning, in the contrary, traffic between VNPTF and fixed providers get the highest value at 19:00 in the evening. For calculating the number of circuits, grade of service of all of the trunk groups between VNPTF and other providers are less than 0.01%. The utilization of trunk group from VNPTF to Viettel fixed network is highest with 53.81% and the lowest is from VinaPhone to fixed VNPT with 5.67%
