AbstractTomato (Lycop)ersicon esculentum Mill., var. FMTT--260) plants were cultivated in four small greenhouses at All' protected cultivation site. Different combinations of UV blocking and non UV blocking nets for sidewall and plastics for roof were used considering the greenhouses as four different treatments. The experiment was run for a total of 18 weeks. During this period, microclimatic parameters, biometric observations and yield data were recorded and analyzed. Differences were observed in the trends of the microclimatic parameters. Results from biometric and yield observations were found different among treatments. It was concluded that the changes occurred in microclimatic, agronomic and yield parameters were due to the changes in the greenhouse microclimate as all other factors were kept constant. When any one of the claddings (net or plastic) was UV blocking, the microclimate changed and gave better results with higher CO2 concentration, which resulted in higher productivity than that in conventionally cladded greenhouse. In this experiment, the greenhouse with UV blocking net and non blocking plastic offered the most promising results, followed by non UV blocking net with blocking plastic
