AbstractMyanmar, one of the developing countries in Asia, publicized the market-oriented economic strategy in 1988 and then the government authorities have been encouraging the private companies to make investments in several business categories related with trading, construction, manufacturing, as well as services sectors. Among them, SMEs in construction business vigorously take part in the development of the country’s commercial, social and political in addition with the creation of job opportunities for Myanmar people. Construction industry in Myanmar is being to be in demand and desired concerning with the significance importance of knowledge and competency in project management last 20 years. Because of limited or restricted resources and time, a wide-ranging of tendencies and challenges have a straight attitude on the future of the project management of construction projects in Myanmar. Nowadays in Myanmar, most small and medium enterprise (SMEs), main contractors and project owners unquestionably attempt to utilize effective project management system in their respective construction business even though the typical project management knowledge and tools are not much developed. In this report, I would like to review and evaluate the WL company’s assessment in project management competency according to project management assessment and tools. Besides, I would like to make recommendation how to improve WL company’s project management system.
