Abstract | The trend towards achieving higher returns has been taking place with the remarkable economic growth and performance of economies' of Asian countries. The capital markets of these countries have far expanded in breadth, width as well enhanced in their resilience. Efficient Market Hypothesis has proved to be working within these countries' capital markets. In this regard, the field of equity research in emerging markets has become an increasingly popular among institutional as well as individual investors both domestically and internationally. Using various valuation techniques, investors are able to select the mispriced equities in the capital market and make their security allocation decisions. This research through the case study of Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd., Singapore based semiconductor manufacturing company, demonstrated how by effectively utilizing country's macro and micro perspectives, by identifying investor attractive industries and by analyzing specific company's stock within that industry to recommend these stocks as a potential investment. This research as a result provided an advice on whether invest in this company's stock; hold it or sell it in the future using fundamental and technical analysis methods. |
