AbstractIn recent years, the quality of electric power becomes most important. Especially, there are electric utility markets, an electric trading for contract between buyer and seller, in some countries. With the new trend, the need to achieve an acceptable level of reliability, quality and safety at an economic price is even more important to customer. The demand of buyer for electric quality is proper and seller attaches much important to this. Reliability is the probability of device or system performing its function adequately, for the period of the time intended, under the operating conditions intended. Reliability is aspect of electric quality and now the seller studies and gives the solution. Being one of three main parts of power system, the distribution system plays an important role in electric power industry. Because the distribution system is very close proximity to the ultimate customers and its high investment cost. In addition distribution system has to sever so many customers with requirement of power quality. In the real distribution system has many types of customer with variable reliability requirement and then the electric seller studies and gives the solution of improvement reliability for each load customer unit. This study evaluated the existent distribution system and reliability for each load customer type. By evaluations and studying experiences in the world, so this study proposed the improvement reliability solution for distribution system in Vietnam. This study is the basic for constructing standard criterion in designing and planning. EVN continues making standard criterion for Vietnam, it can same criterion of another country but it conform to specific of network and load customer in Vietnam
