Abstract | While investors and stockholders are key stakeholders of for-profit organizations, and profit maximization is their ultimate goal; nonprofit organizations are accountable to their donors and communities. Successful management of nonprofit organizations requires a different focus on various stakeholder groups and their various needs, which are dissimilar to the for-profit organizations'. An area of study in this project focuses on a case study of one nonprofit organization named "Population Services International, Thailand" regarding how this organization responds to various needs of its different stakeholder groups. In this project study, stakeholder groups of PSI/Thailand are identified and categorized. In addition, the stakeholder analysis framework is used in order to help analyze stakeholder management practices of this organization in 3 levels: relation, process, and transactional. Lastly, after-study-recommendations will be made in order to help this organization 'more effectively' handle various stakeholder groups and their needs. Among several alternative solutions, information technology (IT) is expected to be one of key success factors toward the more effective stakeholder management of Population Services International, Thailand; as well as other nonprofit organizations. |
